Lake Mead's long shoreline (over 750 miles!) provides ample recreation opportunities, and Lake Mead RV Village sits just behind Boulder Beach, one of the top beaches in the area for swimming. What to expect at Lake Mead RV Village
The RV Village boasts over 100 full-hookup sites, some closer to the lake than others. Make sure you choose a lakeside site for stunning views right from your RV. The area has all the facilities you'd expect from an RV site, including laundry, a convenience store, and Wi-Fi. Meeting rooms are available to rent, and picnic areas with barbecues are also available. Visitors say the facilities are clean and the sites are well-lit.
It's a short drive or walk down to the ruggedly beautiful Boulder Beach from the RV Village. Depending on water levels, the distance varies between 0.25 and 0.5 miles. Be aware that partly due to these fluctuating water levels, Lake Mead can be a relatively dangerous lake for swimming in the U.S., so always keep your wits about you when swimming or boating. That said, satisfied visitors write that Boulder Beach is a great place to learn to kayak or stand-up paddleboard and to escape the Nevada heat.
Despite its many charms, Lake Mead RV Village isn't quite perfect. Several guests complained about the Wi-Fi, writing that it didn't work or they couldn't sign in to the network. Boulder City is about a ten-minute drive south of Lake Mead RV Village and is a convenient place to grab a bite to eat or stock up on essentials before heading to your campsite.
If you are looking for a place to park your RV closer to the Grand Canyon, consider splitting your time between Lake Mead RV Village and Meadview RV Park (about 90 minutes apart). Meadview sits just 26 miles from the West Rim of the Grand Canyon and offers RV and tent sites as well as cabins. However, as Meadview isn't directly on Lake Mead, it doesn't provide the same glorious lakeside setting as Lake Mead RV Village.
